Key Features and Capabilities

NuPIC is designed to help businesses build and scale AI applications on CPUs. NuPIC minimizes time to production for large language models (LLMs), a process that usually takes months, into a matter of hours.

Main Features of NuPIC

On NuPIC, you can:

  • Deploy highly optimized, production-ready LLMs on CPUs
  • Run inference on CPUs with 7-17X throughput improvement compared with GPUs
  • Fine-tune LLMs to further boost accuracy for your unique use case
  • Integrate within your existing infrastructure, either on-premise or via your private cloud
  • Maintain complete control over your data and models - your data never leaves your infrastructure

What can I use NuPIC for?

NuPIC gives you the tools to transform data into actionable insights, enabling you to leverage the benefits of AI to maximize the impact of your AI applications. We currently offer three solutions, each harnessing multiple AI capabilities to address different requirements.

  • Document Retrieval: Harness the power of retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) to sift through extensive data repositories and retrieve the most relevant documents in real-time. Capabilities include information extraction, semantic search, document classification, and document summarization.
  • Customer Support: Accelerate issue resolution and improve customer service. Capabilities include detecting customer sentiment, ticket routing and categorization, and chat log summarization.
  • Text analytics: Extract meaningful insights from large volumes of text to inform decisions. Capabilities include sentiment analysis, summarization, question-answering, classification, named entity recognition, and sentence similarity.

The Neuroscience Behind Our Technology

Numenta technology is based on two decades of neuroscience research and breakthrough advances in understanding what the neocortex does and how it does it. We have developed a framework of intelligence called the Thousand Brains Theory, which suggests mechanisms for how the brain efficiently represents information, learns about the structure of the world, and makes predictions. This research enabled us to develop unique brain-based architecture, data structures, and algorithms that dramatically increase performance in today's AI systems and unlock new capabilities in AI.
